Day 16 of 365, Who Dat? It's Me!

Day 16 of 365, Jan. 24, 2010
Terry taking picture of me while I am taking a picture of him. I am wearing a #9, Drew Brees jersey. Actually, it is Terry's jersey but he let me wear it. When I stand up, it comes down to my knees, no kidding! I didn't care. I loved wearing it and I was so proud of quarterback, Drew Brees tonight as he led the Saints to victory. Way to go entire Saints team. We cheered loudly for yall~!!!

Who Dat Nation Rocked the House tonight!!!

Saints are going to the Super Bowl! We went to Champs to watch the game. Saints vs. Vikings. It was a blast! Lots of excitement in Baton Rouge and all over Louisiana as the Saints are going to the Super Bowl for the first time! I took lots of pics so I am going to make a video for my blog as soon as I can. For now, it is late and time for beddy-bye! But, I couldn't go to sleep without posting Day 16.

Day 15 of 365, Good Friends, Good Food, Good Movie

Today, my brother and sister-in-law treated Terry and I to a very nice lunch at Jones Creek Cafe in Baton Rouge. Ronnie wanted to do a nice gesture for us because we photographed his Retirement Celebration. We were more than glad to document the event in pictures and surely did not expect anything in return. But, Ronnie & Tracie insisted. We ate good food and laughed like we always do when we get together. On this day, we were seated in the family dining room side of the restaurant. Terry and I had gone on a different day, and ate in the oyster bar area. It is more of a sports bar with a very warm, hometown, 'Cheers' atmosphere. I really like the place and I am happy to recommend Jones Creek Cafe if anyone wants some good food in a friendly atmosphere.
Day 15 of 365, Self Portrait, Jan. 23, 2010
I guess I'm going to call this my Self Portrait. Terry and I were the first people in the theatre so I propped my feet on the seat in front of me and caught this shot. We went to see the Sherlock Holmes movie. Everyone that had seen it said they really enjoyed it. So, as soon as Big Daddy got a free day, we went together. I liked the movie a lot. It was a complex, exciting and smart mystery. It's Sherlock Holmes!
Today's photo challenge subject was something you use in the morning. I posted the Community Coffee pic that I had posted earlier in my blog titled INSPIRE. Kayla and Trevor brought this king cake home last night, so this morning I took this pic and posted it along with the Community Coffee pic. I wanted to have a little fun and see if anyone would be curious about the Louisiana Mardi Gras King Cake tradition. Check here to see the comments.

Day 14 of 365, Filigree & Calligraphy

Day 14 of 365, Self Portrait. My hands at 44. I am thankful to God for giving me these hands to hug with, work with, write with and even talk with. Down here in Louisiana, you can't talk if you sit on your hands!
Today's photo challenge subject was writing instrument. I chose to photograph my Calligraphy Pen. I tried to write 'Our Daily Challenge' in calligraphy but it ended up a blobby mess. So, I threw that away and captured my pen and practice book seen here.

Above, is my workbook from a Beth Moore Bible Study that I completed October, 2007. The study was Daniel and boy, o' boy, what an impact it made on me. The study is exciting and brilliant. I enjoyed listening to the teaching portion on my mp3 player. Here is my completed workbook with all my chicken scratch up, down the page and sideways. If you have time to go through the 12 week study, it will blow your doors down! Your mind will expand like you never dreamed possible!!!

Day 13 of 365, Hip to be SQUARE!

Day 13 of 365, Self Portrait, Jan. 20, 2010Yes, I took this of myself! This is to pay homage to every aggravating and unflattering sneaky pics I have taken of my daughters. And then, they say, "STOP! You don't know how irritating you are, MOM! Enough with the camera, MOM!" lol!!!
Today's photo challenge subject was square. Yesterday, I spotted this Brownie Camera in an antique store in Denham Springs. I had a point & shoot with me so, I clicked off this pic. Of course, I had not realized when I took the picture that I would actually be able to use it for today's challenge. Not only is the actual camera a square shape (well, it might be rectangular) but, the images it produced were SQUARE! As, Huey Lewis & The News sings, "...it's hip to be SQUARE"!
===================================================================
"...The big news was the Brownie camera.
Actually the Brownie wasn‘t new on the market. In fact, the Eastman-Kodak company had been selling Brownies since 1900. Many models were popular, but it wasn‘t until model 127 (in 1952) that your average person could afford one. ....."

Day 12 of 365, Unlocking Imagination

I captioned this picture, "Unlocking Imagination". This was taken for the daily photo challenge, Subject: Keys.

Song in a Minor Key by Dorothy Parker

There's a place I know where the birds swing low,
And wayward vines go roaming,
Where the lilacs nod, and a marble god Is pale,
in scented gloaming. And at sunset there comes a lady fair
Whose eyes are deep with yearning.

By an old, old gate does the lady wait
Her own true love's returning. But the days go by,
and the lilacs die, And trembling birds seek cover;
Yet the lady stands, with her long white hands
Held out to greet her lover.

And it's there she'll stay till the shadowy day
A monument they grave her.
She will always wait by the same old gate, --
The gate her true love gave her.

"I like poetry because everyone has a different interpretation. Sometimes, you must read it several times before you understand its meaning. Furthermore, interpretation of a poem is as diverse as the reader. It may speak to you in a different way then it did for me. For me, this poem talks about a statue (woman) who is waiting, waiting, waiting for her man to come back to her.

What sat down in my soul is that waiting is sometimes an emotional 'holding on'. As in the marriage covenant, the vow means that you promise to stand! Through good times & bad, sickness & health, richer, for poorer...you stand!

No matter what you are going through, pray & hold on dear one...in faith,

You Stand!"

Day 11 of 365, Pasta & Famiy Get Togethers

Today's daily photo challenge was Bow. This is my bowtie pasta pic today. After capturing this shot, I started thinking about what I wanted to post on my blog today. I would like to share my favorite pasta salad recipe that my mom makes. Yummy good. You gotta try it!

Here are two collages of a few snapshots that I took at the Family Fish Fry in October 2009.

This is my cousin's daughter. My cousin said she came here 'bigger than your average bear'. lol!
She is adorable and spunky! Ya gotta love her!

So, here is your little tea pot, short and stout! Tip me over and I might fall down.

Peace out with my 'Ove Glove'! Now, I need to get my garlic bread out of the 'ove'. See Ya!
